Eastern Bloc was born in the winter of 2015, with an impromptu BBQ at a newly opened cocktail bar on an industrial estate in the heart of Peckham. Alex is from Romania but adopted by the wild oasis that is South London. Her aim is to adapt, modernise and put a Peckham stamp on recipes from around the Black Sea and beyond. A bastard child of many culinary influences, Eastern Bloc aims to take you on a wild ride from Peckham to Romania via Turkey and the Middle East, focusing on underdog ingredients & non traditional methods. This spring residency at Great Guns Social is shawarma centric but also includes tons of exciting & mostly vegan snacks.
